The TomTom Traffic Index has released its list of the most congested cities, based on research across 501 cities in 62 countries.
Congestion levels are measured by the average time it takes to drive 10 kilometers (km).
Kolkata, India, is the most congested city in Asia in 2024, with an average travel time of 34.55 minutes per 10 km.
Two Indonesian cities also made the list: Bandung and Medan.
Bandung, West Java, ranks 7th most congested in Asia, with an average travel time of 32.62 minutes per 10 km.
Medan, North Sumatra, ranks 10th, with an average travel time of 32.05 minutes for the same distance.

2. Bengaluru (India): 34.17 minutes per 10 km
3. Pune (India): 33.37 minutes per 10 km
4. Kyoto (Japan): 33.27 minutes per 10 km
5. Davao City (Philippines): 32.98 minutes per 10 km
6. Kumamoto (Japan): 32.62 minutes per 10 km
7. Bandung (Indonesia): 32.62 minutes per 10 km
8. Tainan (Taiwan): 32.48 minutes per 10 km
9. Manila (Philippines): 32.17 minutes per 10 km
10. Medan (Indonesia): 32.05 minutes per 10 km
