According to the Indonesian Automotive Industry Association (Gaikindo), domestic wholesale car sales reached 72,295 units in February 2025.

This figure represents a 16.73% month-to-month (mtm) increase from the previous month's sales of 61,932 units.

Year-on-year (yoy), wholesale sales also grew by 2.15% compared to February 2024, which recorded 70,772 units.

Gaikindo Secretary General Kukuh Kumara expressed hope that this growth would continue into March 2025, driven by sales from the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) held late last month and pre-Lebaran sales.

"But after that, we need to be cautious; sales could decline. The large middle class is experiencing decreased purchasing power. So, it's still quite challenging," said Kukuh in a statement, as reported by Kontan on Wednesday, March 12, 2025.

In February 2025, Toyota was the top-selling car manufacturer in Indonesia with 24,397 wholesale units sold.

Daihatsu and Honda followed, recording wholesale sales of 11,959 units and 8,757 units, respectively.
