BYD, a Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer that entered the Indonesian market in June 2024, has recorded significant sales success.
According to the Indonesian Automotive Industry Association (Gaikindo), from June to November 2024, wholesale sales (from the sole authorized distributor to dealers) of BYD vehicles in the domestic market reached 13,886 units.
BYD achieved a 3.09% market share of total national vehicle wholesales during the June-November 2024 period.
In Indonesia, BYD offers four variants: Dolphin, M6, Atto 3, and Seal. Prices range from Rp 365 million to Rp 719 million per unit, depending on the type and specifications, as shown in the graph.
The BYD M6 was the best-selling model, with wholesale sales of 4,824 units (34%), followed by the Seal with 4,701 units (33.9%), the Atto 3 with 3,214 units (23.18%), and the Dolphin with 1,127 units (8.13%).
Retail sales (from dealers to consumers) of BYD vehicles from July to November 2024 reached 11,654 units. The breakdown is as follows: July - 2,047 units, August - 2,389 units, September - 1,788 units, October - 2,597 units, and November - 2,833 units.
