In October 2024, the Tesla Model Y remained the best-selling electric vehicle globally, with sales of 84,970 units, a 10% YoY increase.
Of the top 10 best-selling electric vehicle models globally in October 2024, seven were from the Chinese manufacturer BYD.
One of its best-selling models, the BYD Song/Seal U, ranked second with sales of 72,983 units. This figure combines sales of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs).
Combining all its models, BYD became the world's leading electric vehicle manufacturer with sales of 482,904 units, representing 27.7% of total October 2024 sales.
