Acting Mayor of Pekanbaru, Risnandar Mahiwa, was among several individuals caught in a sting operation (OTT) conducted by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in Pekanbaru, Riau, on Monday, December 2nd, 2024.
"It's true, the KPK has conducted a sting operation against state officials in Pekanbaru, Riau," said KPK Deputy Chairman Nurul Ghufron, confirming the news as reported by Antara on Monday, December 2nd, 2024.
However, Ghufron did not specify the exact number of people apprehended in the OTT. Currently, the anti-corruption agency is investigating those who were caught.
"Please be patient, we will inform the public after the investigation is complete," he said.
According to the KPK's State Officials' Wealth Report (LHKPN), Risnandar reported assets worth Rp1.9 billion in 2023.
This report was submitted to the KPK on March 18th, 2024, while he was still serving as the Director General of Politics and General Government at the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri).
The majority of his assets consist of land and buildings in Central Jakarta, valued at Rp830 million.
He also reported cash and cash equivalents of Rp520 million, other assets of Rp340 million, transportation assets of Rp255 million, and other movable assets of Rp5 million.
The reported transportation assets include a Royal Enfield Bullet Classic 500 motorcycle (2018), a BMW car (2011), and a Brompton bicycle (2018).
Until the end of 2023, the Acting Mayor of Pekanbaru, who was caught in the OTT, was recorded as having debts totaling Rp40.16 million.
