Top 10 Favorite Indonesian Holiday Destinations for the 2024/2025 New Year's Period

PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero), or KAI, has prepared 2,685,760 train tickets for the 2024/2025 Christmas and New Year (Nataru) holiday period. This includes 2,295,360 tickets for medium-distance commercial trains and 390,400 tickets for medium-distance Public Service Obligation (PSO) trains.

KAI has designated the Nataru 2024/2025 transportation period from December 19, 2024, to January 5, 2025.

As of 7:00 AM WIB on November 27, 2024, 19.77% or 530,981 of the total available tickets have been sold.

KAI Vice President of Public Relations, Anne Purba, stated that the number of tickets sold will continue to change as sales are ongoing.

The highest number of departure tickets sold was recorded on December 24, 2024 (H-1), with a total of 41,575 tickets. The peak of the return flow occurred on December 29, 2024 (H+4), with 39,841 tickets sold.

"KAI hopes that the public will book their tickets soon and plan their holidays carefully, as there are still many train tickets available for the Nataru period," said Anne in a written statement on Wednesday, November 27, 2024.

The following is a list of the 10 most booked train routes during the Nataru 2024/2024 holiday period, as of 7:00 AM WIB on November 27, 2024:

1. Pasar Senen – Surabaya Pasar Turi: 27,689 passengers
2. Surabaya Pasar Turi – Pasar Senen: 25,036 passengers
3. Pasar Senen – Purwosari: 23,609 passengers
4. Purwosari – Pasar Senen: 22,159 passengers
5. Pasar Senen – Purwokerto: 18,901 passengers
6. Purwokerto – Pasar Senen: 17,254 passengers
7. Pasar Senen – Lempuyangan: 16,468 passengers
8. Pasar Senen – Malang: 16,131 passengers
9. Blitar – Kiaracondong: 15,104 passengers
10. Lempuyangan – Pasar Senen: 14,969 passengers.

Meanwhile, KAI recorded the stations with the highest number of departing and arriving passengers as Pasar Senen, Ketapang, Gambir, Surabaya Pasar Turi, Lempuyangan, Surabaya Gubeng, Purwosari, Kiaracondong, Malang, Purwokerto, and others.
