Based on the report *The 2023 Airline Index* released by Bounce, Japan Airlines is ranked the best airline in the world in 2023.
Bounce assessed 52 airlines from various countries that serve international flights, including the 12 largest airlines in the United States.
The assessment was based on several indicators, such as on-time performance, flight cancellations, food and in-flight entertainment quality, cabin crew service quality, seat comfort, and baggage policy.
From these indicators, Japan Airlines received a score of 8.28 out of 10 points, the highest among dozens of other airlines.
"Japan Airlines has a low flight cancellation rate of 1.56% and is one of the airlines that provides the most generous baggage allowance," Bounce wrote in its report.
In addition, Japan Airlines has an on-time performance rate of 88.36%. For other assessment indicators such as in-flight entertainment, food, seat comfort, and staff service, they consistently received a score of 4 out of 5 points.
Singapore Airlines came in second with 7.63 points. This Singaporean airline has an on-time performance rate of 77.39% and a flight cancellation rate of only 0.03%.
Similar to Japan Airlines, Singapore Airlines also performed well in all assessment categories with a score of 4 out of 5 points.
Qatar Airways is ranked third with a score of 7.50 points. According to Bounce, Qatar Airways is one of the airlines with the lowest flight cancellation rate, at 0.33%, coupled with an on-time arrival rate of 77.51%.
For other indicators such as in-flight entertainment and food, seat comfort, and flight staff service, Qatar Airways received a score of 4 out of 5 points.
