AirNav Indonesia, the Indonesian Air Navigation Service Provider, reported handling 1,407 Hajj flights between May 12 and June 10, 2024.
The highest Hajj flight traffic was recorded at Kualanamu Airport in Medan, with a total of 444 movements during that period.
This was followed by Juanda Airport with 208 movements, Adi Soemarmo Airport with 190 movements, Soekarno-Hatta Airport with 181 movements, and Sultan Hasanuddin Airport with 87 movements.
"The peak of Hajj flight movements occurred on May 12, 2024, with a total of 59 flights," said AirNav Indonesia Corporate Secretary Hermana Soegijanto in a statement, as reported by Antara on Thursday, June 20, 2024.
Besides these five airports, AirNav also served Hajj flights from the embarkation points of Sultan Iskandar Muda (Aceh), Minangkabau (Padang), Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II (Palembang), Hang Nadim (Batam), Kertajati (West Java), Syamsudin Noor (Banjarmasin), Sepinggan (Balikpapan), and Zainuddin Abdul Madjid (Lombok).
As the sole air navigation service provider, Herman stated that AirNav contributed to the smooth operation of Hajj flights.
"This support includes extended operating hours, including airport extensions and advancements, additional personnel and shifts, flexible flight schedule allocation, and the implementation of UPR (free routes)," said Herman.
