Gojek's Valuation Reaches US$1 Billion

Based on data released by *CB Insights*, Go-Jek is currently the Indonesian startup with the highest valuation, reaching US$1.3 billion or approximately Rp 17.3 trillion. This means Go-Jek will join the "Unicorn" club, i.e., companies with a valuation exceeding US$1 billion. It is the first Indonesian startup to achieve this milestone. Tokopedia is the second highest-valued company at US$100 million. However, this does not include the latest funding injections for both companies.

Recent news from TechCrunch reports that Go-Jek will receive a fresh injection of US$1.2 billion, or approximately Rp 15.6 trillion, from the Chinese internet giant, Tencent. Gojek and Tencent have completed a new round of funding cooperation. The amount is substantial, estimated at US$1.2 billion. This Indonesian transportation company, founded by a Harvard University graduate, is now estimated to have a valuation of US$3 billion or Rp 39.9 trillion. This value has soared from the estimated valuation after receiving a US$550 million investment in August 2016.
