The Indonesian Film Festival (FFI) Committee has announced the nominees for the 2023 FFI awards. These awards for Indonesian filmmakers will be held on September 14, 2023.
According to the official FFI website, *Budi Pekerti* received the most nominations, with 17 out of 22 categories. These nominations include Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, Best Feature Film, and nominations across all acting categories. Directed by Wregas Bhanuteja, the film tells the story of a middle-aged guidance counselor who is cyberbullied after a video of an altercation with a market vendor goes viral. Due to actions deemed unbecoming of a teacher, netizens continue to scrutinize her, threatening her job.
*Like & Share* is in second place with 11 nominations, including Best Director, Best Cinematography, Best Art Direction, and Best Actress for Aurora Ribero. The film tackles the issue of sexual violence among teenagers, following the story of two girls exploring their world.
*The Big 4* follows in third place, also receiving 11 nominations, including Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, and Best Actor. This film by Timo Tjahjanto is a project from Netflix Indonesia's Waktu Indonesia, released in 2022.
