PT Sumber Alfaria Trijaya Tbk (AMRT) added 47 new Alfamart outlets in the first three months of 2019, bringing the total number of outlets to 13,726. While many large retail companies are closing stores due to sluggish sales, Alfamart continues its expansion by opening new stores every year.
Proactively anticipating consumer needs, Alfamart opens new outlets near residential areas. In five years (2014-2019), the number of Alfamart stores increased by more than three thousand. Throughout 2018, AMRT recorded a 116.5% increase in profit, reaching Rp 650.14 billion compared to the previous year.

For information, AMRT was initially a trading and distribution company founded in February 1989 by the Djoko Susanto family. The company then entered the minimarket sector in 1999 and expanded exponentially in 2002 by acquiring 141 Alfaminimart outlets and converting them into Alfamart.
