Jakarta Special Capital Region Contributed the Highest Import Value Nationally in the January-August 2021 Period

According to the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), the total value of imports in Jakarta reached US$60.6 billion during the January-August 2021 period. This figure was the highest in all of Indonesia during that period.

With that amount, Jakarta contributed 49.29% of Indonesia's total imports. Indonesia's total imports reached US$122.9 billion during the January-August 2021 period.

East Java was in second place with import value reaching US$17.21 billion during the same period. East Java's imports contributed 14% to the national import value. Following this was Banten with imports of US$9.66 billion during the January-August 2021 period. Banten's contribution to national imports reached 7.86%.

Furthermore, the value of imports in the Riau Islands reached US$9.48 billion during the January-August period this year. The Riau Islands' contribution to national imports reached 7.72%.

Next, Central Java had imports valued at US$7.48 billion during the same period. Central Java's contribution to national imports reached 6.09%. Meanwhile, the contributions of other provinces were each relatively below 5%.
