Brazil, Indonesia's Largest Trading Partner in Latin America and the Caribbean in 2020

Total trade value between Indonesia and 10 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean reached US$8.3 billion in 2020. This amount is equivalent to Rp 117.4 trillion with an exchange rate of Rp 14,218/US$.

Brazil was Indonesia's largest trading partner in the region with a value of US$3.6 billion in 2020. It was followed by Argentina with a trade value of US$1.9 billion in the same period.

Indonesia's trade value with Mexico and Chile amounted to US$1.2 billion and US$253.7 million, respectively. Indonesia's trade with Ecuador reached US$250.6 million.

Indonesia and Peru had a trade value of US$248.8 million. Trade with Haiti and Colombia amounted to US$140.7 million and US$134.1 million, respectively.

Indonesia's trade value with Panama was recorded at US$109 million. Meanwhile, Indonesia's trade with the Dominican Republic amounted to US$80.9 million.

Indonesia's exports to the 10 countries in the Latin America and Caribbean region totaled US$3.16 billion. The main export commodities were vegetable oils, vehicles, electronics, rubber, and footwear.

Meanwhile, imports from these 10 countries into Indonesia reached US$5.1 billion. The main commodities imported were animal feed, cereals, sugar, cotton, and chocolate.
