East Java Exports Reach US$1.99 Billion in September 2021

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that East Java's exports reached US$1.99 billion in September 2021. This figure shows a slight increase of 0.17% compared to the previous month, which reached US$1.98 billion.

Compared to the same period last year, East Java's export value increased by 25.32%. In September 2020, East Java's export value was US$1.58 billion.

This increase was partly supported by the growth in oil and gas export performance. The value of oil and gas exports in East Java increased by 72.95%, from US$55.90 million in August 2021 to US$96.69 million in September 2021.

Compared to the same period last year, the value of oil and gas exports increased by 59.31% in September 2021. Oil and gas exports contributed 4.87% to the total exports of East Java in the ninth month of this year.

Meanwhile, non-oil and gas exports in East Java amounted to US$1.89 billion in September 2021. This figure decreased by 1.95% compared to the previous month, which reached US$1.93 billion.

Compared to September 2020, the value of non-oil and gas exports increased by 23.96%. Non-oil and gas exports contributed 95.13% to the province's total exports in September 2021.

The United States was the main destination for East Java's exports, with a value of US$323.83 million in September 2021. Exports from the province to China and Japan amounted to US$307.88 million and US$264.29 million, respectively.
