Indomie's popularity extends beyond Indonesia; it's a global brand. A 2015 Kantar Worldpanel survey ranked Indomie 8th as the world's most frequently chosen consumer brand. This instant noodle brand, produced by PT Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk, achieved 1.89 million points, surpassing Dove shampoo from Unilever, which received 1.67 million points.
Indomie's global success is fueled by significant market share in several countries, including Malaysia, Turkey, Vietnam, Nigeria, and various Middle Eastern nations. In September 2016, PT Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk also opened an Indomie factory in Serbia to meet European market demand.
This ranking is based on calculations combining a country's household population, the number of households purchasing the product, and the intensity of purchases per household. The survey also showed that Coca-Cola remains the world's most popular brand, achieving 6.23 million points.
