PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) reported that 220,227 passengers used the Whoosh high-speed rail service during the 2023/2024 Christmas and New Year (Nataru) holiday period, from December 22, 2023, to January 2, 2024.

KCIC General Manager Corporate Secretary, Eva Chairunisa, stated that this figure represents a 33% increase compared to the pre-holiday period in early December 2023.

She attributed the increase to higher demand from people using Whoosh to enjoy the year-end holidays.

"This increased demand was accommodated by KCIC adding up to 48 trips per day," Eva said in a statement on Wednesday (January 3, 2024).

Based on departure station, the highest number of passengers was recorded at Halim Station, with 115,435 passengers.

This was followed by Padalarang Station with 73,034 passengers and Tegalluar Station with 31,758 passengers.

During this period, KCIC operated 576 trips, with an average of 19,000-20,000 passengers per day.

KCIC recorded the peak passenger volume on December 26, 2023, with a total of 21,188 passengers.
