According to research by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), during the period 2021-2025, as much as 42% of global arms exports came from the United States (US).

US arms exports grew by 27% during the period 2016-2020 and 2021-2025, making it the main supplier of weapons to 99 countries during 2021-2025.

Despite having the largest share of global arms exports, in terms of growth, the US still lagged behind Italy.

Meanwhile, Russia was the only country in the top 10 global arms suppliers to experience negative growth of up to 64%.
