Indonesian Provinces with the Largest Export Value from January-July 2025

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reports that Indonesia's export value for the January-July 2025 period reached US$160.16 billion, an increase of 8.03% compared to the same period last year.

Based on the province of origin of goods, West Java Province had the highest export value. The following are the top 5 provinces of origin with the largest export values:

• West Java: US$22.15 billion
• East Java: US$16.52 billion
• Riau Islands: US$13.86 billion
• Riau: US$12.19 billion
• Central Sulawesi: US$12.02 billion

BPS explains that the province of origin of goods refers to the province where the goods were produced or stored/stockpiled for export.

The export value mentioned is free on board (FOB), which is the value of the goods at the port of loading after the goods have been loaded onto the ship.

According to BPS, the value of non-oil and gas exports throughout January-July 2025 reached US$152.20 billion, an increase of 9.55% compared to the same period last year.

Meanwhile, the value of oil and gas exports was US$7.97 billion, a sharp drop of 14.56% compared to the January-July 2024 period.

BPS states that among the top 10 commodities with the largest non-oil and gas export values from January-July 2025, all of them experienced an increase, except for mineral fuels, which saw a decrease of US$4.88 billion (21.56%).

"Meanwhile, the commodity with the largest increase was animal/vegetable fats and oils, at US$5.32 billion (37.76%)," BPS explained in its report.
