Despite a setback at the San Marino GP, Jorge Martin remains at the top of the 2024 MotoGP World Championship standings.

Marc Marquez won the 2024 MotoGP race at the Misano Circuit, San Marino, Italy, on Sunday (September 9, 2024). Starting from ninth position, the Gresini Racing rider completed the 27 laps in 41 minutes 52.083 seconds.

The rider nicknamed "The Baby Alien" won two consecutive races.

Behind him on the podium were two Ducati riders, Francesco Bagnaia and Enea Bastianini.

Meanwhile, Jorge Martin, who started from second position, dropped to 15th place and remained there until the end of the race. Due to a light drizzle, he decided to change his bike on lap 6. Martin failed to achieve a podium finish and fell far behind the leading grid.

Despite this, the Prima Pramac Racing champion still leads the 2024 MotoGP standings with 312 points. Martin further extended his lead over Bagnaia, who is in second place, by 7 points.

Marc Marquez, who won the San Marino race, is third in the overall standings with 259 points.

The next 2024 MotoGP race will be held at the Misano Circuit, Emilia Romagna, Italy, from September 20-22, 2024.
