Southeast Asia's Happiest Countries 2024: Indonesia Ranks Sixth

According to the *World Happiness Report 2024*, Indonesia ranked sixth happiest country in Southeast Asia this year. Globally, Indonesia is ranked 80th.

Indonesia recorded an average happiness score of 5.568 points in 2024.

This achievement surpasses Laos, Myanmar, and Cambodia, which have lower happiness index scores.

Singapore achieved the highest ranking as the happiest country in Southeast Asia this year, with a score of 6.523 points. It has held this title for two consecutive years.

“Singapore performs exceptionally well in terms of GDP per capita, one of the highest in our dataset,” said Shun Wang, Author and Editor of the *World Happiness Report* 2024, in a statement reported by *CNBC* on Tuesday, March 19, 2024.

This ranking is based on a global survey of 143 countries over the past three years (2021-2023). The index score is measured based on six factors: GDP per capita, social support, healthy life expectancy, freedom to make life choices, generosity, and perceptions of corruption.
