Indonesia's Non-Oil and Gas Exports to China Soar 66% in First Half of 2021

China remains the main destination for Indonesia's non-oil and gas exports. The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded non-oil and gas exports to China at US$21.3 billion, or Rp307 trillion (at an exchange rate of Rp14,400/US$), during January-June 2021. This figure is up 66% compared to the same period the previous year, which amounted to US$12.83 billion.

Indonesia's non-oil and gas exports to China during the first half of 2021 contributed 21.94% to the total, which reached US$97.06 billion. This achievement increased compared to the first six months of last year, which only contributed 17.72% of the total non-oil and gas exports of US$72.4 billion.

The United States was the second largest destination for non-oil and gas exports, with a value of US$11.51 billion in the first half of 2021. This value increased by 34.22% from January-June 2020, which amounted to US$8.59 billion.

Furthermore, non-oil and gas exports to Japan were recorded at US$7.6 billion in January-June 2021. This figure increased by 21.31% compared to the same period last year, which amounted to US$6.29 billion.

Meanwhile, non-oil and gas exports to Southeast Asian countries amounted to US$19.87 billion in the first half of 2021. This value increased by 28.43% compared to the same period last year, which amounted to US$15.47 billion.
