Of this number, only 59,422 are specialist doctors, or approximately 21%.
Based on their title, the most numerous specialist doctors in Indonesia are currently internal medicine specialists (Sp.PD).
Sp.PD doctors specialize in treating medical conditions related to internal organs, such as the heart, lungs, kidneys, liver, and others.
As of April 24, 2024, there were 6,206 Sp.PD doctors, equivalent to 2.2% of the total nationally registered doctors.
The next most numerous specialist doctors are in the field of obstetrics and gynecology or obgyn (Sp.OG), who handle women's reproductive health, including pregnancy.
There are also a number of other specialty fields with a relatively large number of doctors in the country.
