Unbeatable: China the World's Largest Exporter in 2020

China remained undefeated as the world's largest exporter in 2020. Quoting statista.com, the export value of the "Bamboo Curtain" country in 2020 reached US$2.591.12 billion, almost double the export value of the United States.

Meanwhile, the export value of the United States amounted to US$1.431.64 billion. The top exporter positions were dominated by developed countries, such as Germany with export value of US$1.380 billion, the Netherlands US$674.48 billion, and Japan US$641.38 billion.

Singapore and Vietnam were the two ASEAN countries that successfully entered the list of the 20 largest exporters. Singapore was ranked 14th with export value of US$362.53 billion. Meanwhile, Vietnam was ranked 20th with export value of US$282.66 billion.

China's leading export commodities were machinery and transport equipment, with export value reaching US$1.2 trillion. Besides machinery and transport equipment, China also exported a large amount of iron and steel, textiles, and medical equipment.

The main export destinations for China in 2020 were the United States (US$452.58 billion), Hong Kong (US$272.65 billion), Japan (US$142.64 billion), Vietnam (US$113.81 billion), and South Korea (US$112.5 billion).
