Bali's Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported only eight foreign tourist visits to Bali in May 2021. All visits were through air entry points, namely Ngurah Rai Airport.
The number of foreign tourist visits in May was not significantly different from April 2021, which recorded nine visits. Therefore, the total number of foreign tourist visits to Bali from January to May 2021 was 42.
Despite this, the occupancy rate of star-rated hotels in Bali increased. The percentage reached 10.35% in May 2021, higher than the previous month's 10.09%.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy is preparing for COVID-19 vaccine-based tourism. Tourists will be able to receive the corona vaccine, making the program available not only to people in Bali.
Therefore, the public is encouraged to choose domestic vaccine tourism over other countries. This step aims to increase tourist visits and revive Bali's economy, which has been impacted by the corona pandemic.
