According to the 2022 Environmental Performance Index (EPI) report, the United Kingdom has the best environmental sustainability among the G20 group.

With this assessment system, the UK scored 77.7, making it the best among other G20 countries. The UK received a very high score in the climate change mitigation policy sector.

"Countries with high scores have well-thought-out programs to protect public health, conserve natural resources, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions," said Alex de Sherbinin, one of the researchers who compiled the EPI report, in a press release on Wednesday (1/6/2022).

Meanwhile, Indonesia only scored 28.2 out of 100. This score places Indonesia 17th in the G20, or 164th out of 180 countries researched.

The EPI also mentions that there are 4 G20 member countries with very high greenhouse gas emissions.

"If current trends continue, China, India, the United States, and Russia will be responsible for about 50% of global greenhouse gas emissions by 2050," said the EPI team.
