Top Technology & Information Companies with the Most Job Openings in 2021

Unlike the early days of the 2020 pandemic, where many companies conducted layoffs, 2021 saw a market recovery with a 54.47% increase in the demand for tech talent. According to an EKRUT report, companies in the information and communication technology sector dominated the Indonesian recruitment market.

In 2021, 71 companies offered job openings in the information and communication technology field. Other industrial sectors that also opened many job vacancies included various fields, ranging from manufacturing to services.

The finance and insurance sector ranked second, with 56 companies offering job openings. This was followed by the e-commerce and telecommunications sectors, with 35 and 15 companies respectively.

Next, the sector with the most job openings was health and care, with 12 companies. Meanwhile, 7 companies operating in the platform sector opened vacancies last year.

EKRUT also found that the most sought-after tech talent professions in 2021 were dominated by Software Engineering, with a percentage of 64.64%. Backend Engineer was the most in-demand profession, with an average monthly salary of Rp 19 million in the e-commerce industry.
