East Ventures Most Active in Funding Fintech Startups through Q3 2021

DailySocial reported a total of 105 transactions for funding of technology-sector startups or financial technology (fintech) companies from January to September 2021 domestically. During this period, East Ventures was the most active investor.

East Ventures recorded 25 transactions up to Q3 2021, followed by AC Ventures with 13 transactions in the same period.

DailySocial also noted that angel investors made 13 transactions for fintech companies. Angel investors are early-stage startup investors who also help other startups take their first steps. This funding is usually in the form of convertible bonds or company equity.

MDI Ventures, a venture capital firm owned by Telkom, made 10 transactions for fintech funding. Telkomsel Mitra Inovasi, also affiliated with Telkom, recorded 6 transactions.

Funding for fintech startups reached US$1.23 billion from December 2020 to November 2021. Kredivo was the startup with the largest funding received, at US$226 million.
