The *Digital 2022 Global Overview Report* states that the number of e-commerce consumers worldwide continues to grow, reaching a total of 3.78 billion people in January 2022.

The report also notes that many consumers make e-commerce transactions because they are attracted to the promotions offered by online stores.

According to a survey of respondents aged 16-64 years old globally, the most popular online sales promotion is Free Delivery. 51.1% of respondents stated that Free Delivery significantly influences their online shopping decisions.

Following this, 39.2% of respondents made online purchases due to coupon and discount programs. Another 33.5% were influenced by reviews from other consumers.

Furthermore, 32.1% of respondents said they shopped online because of an easy returns policy. Finally, 29.5% shopped online because of a quick and easy online checkout process.

The *Digital 2022 Global Overview Report* also notes that some promotional activities appear to be less popular or less effective in encouraging online purchases. Examples include the number of likes and comments on social media, eco-friendly product promotions, and cash on delivery (COD) offers.
