Laptop: The Device with the Highest Internet Consumption

Laptops consume the most internet data compared to other devices. In 2013, a Cisco VNI survey showed that laptop usage consumed 4.6 times more internet data than smartphones. The extensive features available on laptops support daily activities that heavily rely on internet connectivity. Besides laptops, other popular devices for internet browsing include 4G tablets and 4G smartphones. The introduction of 4G technology in Indonesia has begun to transform device usage for internet access.

4G devices are now the primary choice for internet users. Their fast connection speeds and lower prices are the main reasons for the shift to these devices. In terms of data consumption, the average 4G smartphone uses almost four times more data than a non-4G smartphone. However, the uneven 4G signal coverage across Indonesia remains a major obstacle for 4G users.
