Shopee, Southeast Asia's E-commerce Leader

Shopee was crowned the e-commerce platform with the most visitors in Southeast Asia. The Singapore-based e-commerce platform received approximately 2.1 billion website visitors throughout 2019. Its competitor, Lazada, followed with 1.8 billion website visitors in 2019.

Prior to 2019, Shopee and Lazada had already been in fierce competition. Both are e-commerce giants that have conquered the Southeast Asian market. In Q4 2018, users from Thailand contributed the most visitors to Lazada. Meanwhile, Shopee was more popular among Vietnamese users due to its dominance in website visits to the e-commerce platform.

Furthermore, three Indonesian e-commerce platforms were also among those with the highest number of visits in Southeast Asia. These are Tokopedia (906 million), Bukalapak (646.3 million), and Blibli (290 million).
