Other reasons for QRIS usage included: rarely carrying cash (28%), QRIS availability in many locations (23%), transaction security (22%), special discounts from stores (20%), and the ability to monitor spending through transaction history (18%).

Additional reasons cited were avoiding credit card debt (10%), recommendations from store vendors (9%), and recommendations from friends or family (6%).

Populix conducted this online survey from April 26-29, 2024, involving 1,092 respondents across Indonesia.

The majority of respondents were from Java (81%), followed by Sumatra (12%), and other islands (7%). Respondents were predominantly aged 17-25 (40%) and 26-30 (22%).
