The World Digital Competitiveness Ranking (WDC) report published by the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) shows that the United States (US) has the best digital technology competitiveness in 2023.
The US achieved a digital competitiveness score of 100 out of a maximum score of 100. From the three assessment indicators, the US scored 92.56 for knowledge; 91 for technology; and 98.14 for future readiness.
The US's position rose from 2022, when it ranked second with a total score of 99.81.
The country with the second-best digital competitiveness is the Netherlands with a score of 98.1 points. Its scores were: 88.96 for knowledge; 91.7 for technology; and 95.35 for future readiness. The Netherlands' position rose significantly from sixth place in 2022.
Third place was occupied by Singapore with a score of 97.4 points. Its scores were: 92.11 for knowledge; 94.67 for technology; and 87.11 for future readiness. Singapore's position rose from fourth place in 2022.

Fourth place went to Denmark with a score of 96.93. This is down from 2022, when it held the top position. Fifth place was Switzerland with a score of 96.24.
The rest include South Korea, Sweden, and Hong Kong, as shown in the graph. Indonesia ranked 45th with a score of only 60.36 points in 2023.
The IMD's world digital competitiveness ranking analyzes and ranks countries in their adoption and exploration of digital technologies leading to transformation in government practices, business models, and society in general.
There are three main factors of digital competitiveness: knowledge, technology, and future readiness. Each of these factors is divided into 3 sub-factors highlighting each aspect of the analyzed area. Overall, this assessment has 9 such sub-factors. These sub-factors are derived from 54 criteria.
The number of countries examined in this digital competitiveness index reached 64.
