Although the trend of online shopping continues to strengthen, most Indonesians still seem to prefer buying their monthly household needs offline.

According to a Jakpat survey of 2,000 respondents, the majority, or 34.3%, routinely buy their monthly household needs at supermarkets.

Then, 20.05% of respondents routinely shop monthly at traditional markets, 16.35% at small grocery stores (warungs), and 15.20% at supermarkets (swalayan).

Meanwhile, only 13.65% of respondents buy their monthly household needs online or use e-commerce services, the smallest percentage compared to other groups.

Looking at the transaction methods, most respondents also still prefer cash over non-cash payments.

Jakpat notes that the majority, or 54.95%, of respondents who shop monthly at supermarkets or swalayans use cash to pay.

Those using non-cash facilities such as debit cards account for only 28.69%, e-wallets 11.41%, and credit cards 4.95%.
