East Kalimantan Has the Second Lowest Internet Penetration Rate in Kalimantan

East Kalimantan has become the location of the new capital city. Generally, the majority of the population in Kalimantan uses the internet. The highest number of internet users is in West Kalimantan, with penetration reaching 80% of the population. The next region with the second-largest internet penetration is South Kalimantan at 76.4%, followed by Central Kalimantan in third place with 70% penetration.

Meanwhile, internet penetration in East Kalimantan is only 67.8%, the second lowest in Kalimantan. North Kalimantan is the province in Kalimantan with the lowest internet penetration, at 60%.

This survey was conducted by the Indonesian Internet Service Providers Association (APJII) from March 9 to April 14, 2019. The sample used in this survey consisted of 5,900 respondents with a margin of error of approximately 1.28%. Data collection was conducted through interviews and questionnaires.
