According to a report by the International Data Corporation (IDC), Oppo ranks highest among the top 5 best-selling smartphone vendors in Indonesia.

The Chinese brand recorded shipments of 2 million units in Q2 2022. Oppo's market share in Indonesia also increased from 19.1% in Q2 of last year to 20.6% in Q2 2022.

Meanwhile, Samsung shipped 1.9 million smartphone units in Q2 2022. Vivo shipped 1.7 million units. This was followed by Xiaomi and Realme, which recorded smartphone shipments of 1.5 million and 1.3 million units respectively during the same period.

Cumulatively, the number of smartphone shipments in Indonesia, according to IDC, reached 9.5 million units in Q2 2022. This achievement is down 10% year-on-year.

IDC predicts that the smartphone market will not see an increase in the second half of 2022 due to macroeconomic factors such as inflation, exchange rate movements, rising interest rates, and rising fuel prices, which erode consumer purchasing power.
