Not All Sub-districts in Jakarta Had 4G Cellular Network Coverage in 2020

Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), there are 267 villages/sub-districts spread across Jakarta. Of this number, 264 villages, or 99%, are already served by 4th Generation/Long Term Evolution (4G/LTE) cellular networks. The remaining three villages/sub-districts are still served by 3G and 2G networks.

The number of villages/sub-districts served by 4G/LTE networks in Jakarta has increased from the previous year. In 2019, only 252 villages/sub-districts in Jakarta were served by such networks. The remaining 15 villages/sub-districts were only served by 3G networks.

Specifically, 65 villages/sub-districts in South Jakarta were served by 4G/LTE networks last year. 56 villages/sub-districts in West Jakarta were also served by 4G/LTE networks.

Furthermore, 44 villages/sub-districts in Central Jakarta were served by 4G/LTE networks. 31 villages/sub-districts in North Jakarta were also served by these networks.

Meanwhile, only 63 villages/sub-districts in East Jakarta were served by 4G/LTE networks. Two other villages/sub-districts were only served by 3G and 2.5G networks.

In the Thousand Islands, only five villages/sub-districts are served by 4G/LTE networks. One village/sub-district is only served by a 3G network.
