In 2021, global arms sales reached US$592 billion, a 7.6% increase compared to 2020. Compared to two decades ago, global arms sales from 2002 to 2021 have surged by 174%.

Lockheed Martin initially emerged as a civilian aircraft manufacturer. However, it has since expanded to produce fighter jets, rockets, missiles, military radar, and various other military technologies.
In 2021, Lockheed Martin recorded arms sales of US$60.3 billion. These arms sales contributed 90% to the company's total revenue, placing it at the top of the global arms traders list.
Similarly, Boeing, while known as an aircraft manufacturer, also produces various military equipment, including bombs and guided missiles.
Throughout 2021, Boeing generated US$33.4 billion from arms sales, contributing 54% to its total revenue.
