Countries with the Cheapest Broadband Internet Prices in Southeast Asia 2026

According to a report by Broadband Genie titled "Global Broadband Price League 2026", Indonesia is listed as the country with the second cheapest broadband internet cost in Southeast Asia.

In 2026, the average cost of broadband internet in Indonesia was US$10.66 or around Rp182,680 per month (assuming Rp17,137 per US$). Meanwhile, globally, Indonesia ranked 12th out of a total of 214 countries studied.

The first place was occupied by Vietnam, with an average broadband internet cost of only US$10.24 or around Rp175,482 per month.

Alex Tofts, a Broadband Expert at Broadband Genie, explained that high broadband internet costs are generally found in remote countries.

This includes regions with difficult terrain or island countries. These areas are considered to lack close neighboring countries to help expand modern infrastructure.

"Many countries in Eastern Europe, Central Asia, South Asia, and Southeast Asia have low-cost broadband services. This is generally due to the widespread use of fiber-optic networks," Alex wrote in his report.
