According to the e-Conomy SEA 2025 report by Google, Temasek, and Bain & Company, Indonesia's digital economy value is projected to reach US$99 billion by 2025.

This value represents the gross merchandise value (GMV) or gross sales value from four digital economy sectors, namely:

E-commerce (including marketplaces and video commerce);
Online transportation and food delivery services;
Online travel (including online flight, hotel, and tour package booking services);
Online media (including online video, music, game, and advertising services).

In 2025, Indonesia's digital economy will be supported by e-commerce. This sector is expected to contribute US$71 billion or 72% of the total national GMV.

Online transportation and food delivery services will contribute US$10 billion (10%).

Meanwhile, online travel and online media will each contribute US$9 billion (9%).

Cumulatively, Indonesia's digital economy value in 2025 grew by 14% compared to last year (year-on-year/yoy).

Google stated that this growth was primarily driven by video commerce.

"Video commerce has become a highly impactful growth driver for the digital economy in Indonesia," Google said in its report.

"The number of sellers using video surged by 75% (yoy) to 800,000, driving a 90% increase in annual transaction volume to 2.6 billion," they added.

"With top positions held by high-engagement categories such as fashion and accessories, this trend is fundamentally changing consumer behavior and creating significant new opportunities for both sellers and platforms," the report continued.
