According to Counterpoint data, global smartphone sales in Q2 2025 grew by 5% year-on-year (YoY).

However, this positive growth was not experienced across all smartphone operating systems (OS).

In Q2 2025, Android smartphones achieved a 79% global sales share. While still dominant, this share decreased compared to Q2 of the previous year.

Meanwhile, the sales share of smartphones with the Harmony OS remained at 4% in Q2 2025, the same as the previous year.

Despite stagnant global market share, Counterpoint notes that Harmony continues to grow in China and remains the second-largest smartphone OS in the country for six consecutive quarters.

"Huawei's Nova series smartphones contributed significantly [to Harmony sales], and the Pura X foldable phone was also well-received, keeping the brand competitive," they said.
