A report by the Indonesian Internet Service Providers Association (APJII) shows that 23.29% of respondents in Indonesia admitted to using the internet for economic and business purposes.

These activities vary, including online product marketing (affiliates), selling on social media or e-commerce platforms, and others.

Of this business-oriented group, the majority, or 81.92%, have a gross income of less than Rp5 million per month.

Furthermore, 13.54% of respondents have a gross income of Rp5 million to Rp100 million per month.

There are also those with gross incomes ranging from Rp10 million to Rp20 million (2.52%); Rp20 million to Rp50 million (0.76%); Rp50 million to Rp100 million (0.64%); and Rp100 million to Rp200 million per month (0.47%).

Meanwhile, only a small percentage, or 0.15% of respondents, have a gross income from online businesses exceeding Rp200 million per month.

APJII conducted a survey of 8,700 respondents aged 13 and above, proportionally distributed across 38 provinces in Indonesia. The sample was selected using multistage random sampling.

Data collection was conducted from April 10 to July 16, 2025, using face-to-face interviews, with a margin of error of approximately 1.1%.
