According to a Canalys report, global tablet shipments reached 39.03 million units in Q2 2025. This represents a 9.3% year-on-year (YoY) growth.

Canalys Research Manager Himani Mukka explained that this growth was driven by consumer subsidies in China and increased commercial tenders in several countries.

“The market also received a boost from a wave of new product launches, especially in the gaming tablet segment,” Himani stated in her report on Tuesday (August 5, 2025).

In Q2 of this year, Apple again dominated the global tablet market, shipping 14.1 million units, a 2.4% YoY increase.

Samsung followed, distributing 6.65 million tablet units in Q2 2025. Shipments decreased by 1.8% YoY, making it the only manufacturer to experience a decline during this period.

Huawei's tablet shipments surged 29.2% YoY to 3.32 million units. Lenovo followed with a 24.7% YoY increase to 3.09 million units, and Xiaomi grew by 42.3% YoY to 3.05 million units.

"Xiaomi successfully narrowed the gap with Lenovo, thanks to a strong offline sales channel presence in the Chinese market," Canalys wrote.

Combined shipments from other tablet brands increased by 10.6% YoY to 8.89 million units.
