According to a report by the International Data Corporation (IDC), smartphone shipments in China reached 69 million units in Q2 2025, a 4% decrease year-on-year (YoY).

Next, Vivo's smartphone shipments dropped by 10.1% (YoY) to 11.9 million units, and Oppo's decreased by 5% (YoY) to 10.7 million units.

Meanwhile, Xiaomi's smartphone shipments grew by 3.4% (YoY) to 10.4 million units in Q2 2025. Xiaomi was the only major manufacturer to achieve growth in China during this period.

Apple's smartphone shipments fell by 1.3% (YoY) to 9.6 million units, and combined shipments from other smartphone brands in China were corrected by 4.9% (YoY) to 13.8 million units.

"Apple mitigated its sales decline by leveraging strategic price adjustments that made certain iPhone 16 and 16 Pro variants eligible for government subsidies," said Will Wong, IDC's Senior Research Manager.
