Lenovo Boosts Global PC Shipments in Q2 2025

According to a report by the International Data Corporation (IDC), global shipments of personal computers (PCs) reached 68.4 million units in the second quarter of 2025.

This volume represents a 6.5% year-on-year (YoY) increase compared to the second quarter of 2024, which saw shipments of 64.2 million units.

IDC Research Vice President Jean Philippe Bouchard explained that while the global PC market is growing, the United States (US) market is starting to feel the impact of import tariffs.

“We did anticipate a slowdown in the US PC market this quarter due to inventory build-up earlier in the year, but what we are seeing now may indicate weakening PC demand in the US ahead of the import tariff deadline,” said Jean Philippe Bouchard in his report on Tuesday, July 8, 2025.

In the second quarter of this year, Lenovo remained the leading PC manufacturer globally, with shipments of 17 million units, a 15.2% YoY increase.

Next was HP Inc., shipping 14.1 million units, up 14.1% YoY. This was followed by Dell Technologies with 9.8 million units, down 3% YoY, and Apple with 6.2 million units, surging 21.4%.

PC shipments from ASUS grew by 16.7% YoY to 4.9 million units, while combined shipments from other PC brands saw a slight increase of 0.1% YoY, reaching 16.3 million units.
