According to Canva's survey in The State of Marketing and AI 2025, marketing teams worldwide face various challenges in using artificial intelligence (AI). The biggest challenge is the limitations in customization.

Canva's findings also show that team resistance is a significant hurdle for marketers using AI in their work. "Without open dialogue, AI remains a black box that magically produces content," Canva stated in its report.

Therefore, Canva recommends that users focus on the elements within AI. This is seen as a way to help users achieve maximum results.

The challenges faced by marketers respondents in using AI are as follows:

Limited customization: 35% of respondents
Steep learning curve: 34% of respondents
Difficulty integrating into workflow: 33% of respondents
Lack of creativity: 32% of respondents
Team resistance: 30% of respondents
Copyright issues: 29% of respondents
Inaccurate output: 26% of respondents.

Canva's survey involved 2,400 respondents from the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, France, Germany, and Spain. Respondents were marketing and creative decision-makers working in companies with over 500 employees.
