According to a survey by the Indonesian Public Opinion Discussion and Study Group (KedaiKOPI), 90% of Indonesian respondents typically access the internet via smartphones.

When broken down by spending, the majority, or 61.3% of respondents, spent between Rp50,000 and Rp100,000 per month on smartphone internet packages.

Then, 20.8% of respondents spent between Rp101,000 and Rp250,000 per month; 14.2% spent less than Rp50,000 per month; and 3.2% spent around Rp251,000 to Rp500,000 per month.

Furthermore, 0.3% of respondents spent more than Rp750,000 per month on smartphone internet packages; and 0.2% spent between Rp501,000 and Rp750,000 per month.

This survey also found that 25.4% of respondents purchased smartphone internet packages through GoPay. Meanwhile, 20.8% bought them at pulsa counters, 17.5% through m-banking or internet banking, and 14.4% through Shopee.

KedaiKOPI conducted this survey with 1,545 respondents, then narrowed it down to 1,391 respondents who use smartphone internet packages. Respondents consisted of 65.6% women and 34.4% men.

Data collection was conducted from May 14-16, 2025, using the online-computerized assisted self-interview (CASI) method.

Respondents were dominated by millennials at 56.8%, Generation Z at 35.9%, and Generation X at 7.3%.
