This is the Most Followed Account Type by Indonesians on Social Media

A We Are Social report titled *Digital 2025 Indonesia* identified the most followed types of social media accounts by Indonesian internet users in Q4 2024.

Personal accounts (friends, family, or acquaintances) were the most followed, with 55.7% of internet users aged 16 and above in Indonesia following them.

This was followed by musician and band accounts (41.2%), entertainment accounts (39.4%), and actor/comedian accounts (35.1%).

The full list of the most followed social media account types by Indonesian internet users in Q4 2024 is as follows:

1. Personal accounts (friends, family, or acquaintances): 55.7%
2. Musicians and bands: 41.2%
3. Entertainment, meme, or parody accounts: 39.4%
4. Actors, comedians, or other artists: 35.1%
5. Influencers or experts: 32.3%
6. TV shows: 26.4%
7. Restaurants, chefs, or culinary figures: 25.8%
8. Athletes and sports teams: 21.9%
9. Work-related accounts: 20.7%
10. Companies and brands considered for purchase: 19.4%
11. Companies and brands already purchased from: 19.0%
12. Work-related companies: 18.9%
13. Beauty experts: 18.6%
14. Gaming experts or game studios: 14.1%
15. Politicians, royalty, or other influential figures: 13.1%

Overall, We Are Social recorded 143 million social media user identities in Indonesia in January 2025. This is equivalent to 50.2% of the total national population.
