The 2024 e-Commerce Survey results from Indonesia's Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) show that the value of Indonesia's e-commerce transactions reached Rp1,100.87 trillion in 2023.

BPS explains that this increase is influenced by several factors. The total revenue of e-commerce businesses also increased compared to 2022, reaching Rp2,295 trillion.

This was driven by a significant increase in revenue from online sales through marketplaces/digital platforms and non-marketplace/digital platforms, with the latter contributing 81.77% of the total revenue.

In 2023, estimated revenue from online sales through marketplaces/digital platforms was Rp200.68 trillion, and from non-marketplace/digital platforms was Rp900.19 trillion. The increase in these categories significantly boosted the value of Indonesia's e-commerce transactions.

BPS assesses that this increase in e-commerce transaction value is in line with the 27% growth in the number of e-commerce businesses in Indonesia.
