Shopee Remains Top E-commerce Platform Through the Years

Based on the *E-Commerce Map* released by *iprice.co.id*, Shopee maintained its top position as the leading e-commerce platform for ten consecutive quarters based on Play Store rankings. In Q2 2019, Shopee also led in the App Store ranking category. However, based on the average monthly website visitors, Shopee was surpassed by Tokopedia. Tokopedia's monthly website visitors reached 140.4 million, while Shopee had 90.7 million visitors.

Meanwhile, Lazada and Tokopedia fiercely competed for second place based on Play Store rankings. However, by the last two quarters of 2019, Tokopedia managed to overtake Lazada in second place. Bukalapak remained relatively stagnant in fourth place, although in Q3 2018, Bukalapak replaced Tokopedia in third place for the first time.

Sale Stock Indonesia, which changed its name to Sorabel, was a new entrant in Q2 2018, ranking eighth. A year later, Sorabel rose to fifth place in Q2 2019. Another newcomer in this quarter, Alfacart, successfully entered the top 10 e-commerce platforms based on Play Store rankings.
