Who Were the Most Successful Unicorn Investors in 2021?

Sequoia Capital was named the world's most successful unicorn investor in 2021, according to a report by the Hurun Research Institute. The report stated that the United States-based investor had invested in 206 unicorns, the highest number that year.

Next, Tiger Global Management, also from the US, ranked second with the highest number of investments in unicorn companies globally. This investor had 147 unicorns in its portfolio.

Japan's SoftBank followed in third place with investments in 146 unicorns. Accel recorded 74 unicorns in its investment portfolio.

Following this, Goldman Sachs and Insight Partners each invested in 71 unicorns. Andreessen Horowitz recorded 70 unicorns in its portfolio.

Then, Tencent and Hillhouse Capital Group each invested in 68 unicorns. Meanwhile, Coatue invested in 67 unicorns.

The report also mentioned that the majority, or 79, of global unicorn investors are headquartered in the US, followed by 11 unicorn investors headquartered in China.

Meanwhile, there are two unicorn investors headquartered in Singapore and the UK, respectively. There is one unicorn investor each in France, Germany, India, Israel, Japan, and Russia.
